Emotion Interface

Interactive sound-based experience using physical input and MAX/MSP

This interactive interface responds to users’ emotional states through physical input, such as breath or touch. By using MAX/MSP to modulate generative sound, the system invites participants to engage in slow breathing and self-awareness through sonic feedback.

Design Goal

To explore how physical interaction and sound can support emotional regulation, especially for people who struggle with verbal expression.

Technologies Used

  • MAX/MSP – Sound interaction
  • Microphone input (breath / voice)
  • Arduino-based sensors (optional)

MAX/MSP Patch

Sound interaction logic and sensor-to-audio mapping.

Physical Prototype

Interface build and interaction testing.
